GODGIVEN, because of his bounty we have been given wine. It becomes for us the drink of the soul…. and I have tried to do my best, because wine is the fruit of the vine and of human labour.
In this wine, the most natural possible face of Cabernet Franc looks right back at us.
The choice of grape variety is no coincidence, as the whole estate is based on Cabernet Franc.
The characteristics of the Villány wine-growing region and the needs of Cabernet Franc have come together to create a wine with a character all its own. What is more proof of my confidence in the variety than the fact that I planted Cabernet Franc vines throughout my estate in 2009 (before the Villányi Franc brand was born) and have been looking for different faces of Franc ever since. This eternal curiosity, this search for a deeper essence, was also the starting point for this wine.
Here again, I followed my inner focus in winemaking, not a school. I also apply the principles of organic cultivation or biodynamic cultivation, the point is that the vine gets what is good for it. If I were to certify it, I would say it is a natural wine, born from the most natural union between vine and man

I harvested cabernet franc grapes earlier on 18 September, low Ph, high acidity, from two vineyards.
Unlike classical winemaking, I fermented it at a higher temperature to compensate for the sulphur effect, in order to improve extraction. During the longer maceration, there was just pumping over. Fermented and matured in tank for 10 months.
“The nose offers a rich combination of black tea, currants, red berries, flowers, earthy notes and spices. On the palate, we experienced lively, vibrant acidity followed by a long, tart red fruit finish, where spices and green notes reappear. Overall, the Franc showed a face that had been hidden from us. Overall, the tasting team found it very exciting and impressive enough to be supported by the current acidity and tannin structure as time goes on.”
